11+ Maths Zooms

We will be running the following course of maths Zooms throughout the summer holidays.  If you would like your child to attend, please click 'BOOK' and I will send out session details, timings and an invoice. Once sessions have been paid for, I'll ping through the login details and passcode.

Each session costs just £10 for the hour.  There are no resources to print off, or homework activities related to these Zooms - it a quick hour-long review with interactive questions throughout.  There will also be no follow-up email after the Zoom, unless I feel your child needs additional support in the area covered.

To help your child to prepare for answering English (comprehension and SPaG), Maths (reasoning and arithmetic), Verbal Reasoning, Spatial Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning questions against the clock, it is recommended that they sit several mock tests. This helps to:

• reduce nerves on the BIG day
• build familiarisation with the types of question they will face in a GL-format test
• ensure they know how to navigate, and correctly use a multiple-choice answer sheet
• build strategies to use to feel grounded and competent during the test itself
• build an understanding of the timings and format of the test

Throughout the summer, I will be running FULL 2-HOUR GL MOCKS.  These sessions will take place in Southfleet and/or Gravesend depending on demand.

Prior to each mock you will receive a summary of the paper, including specific topics to focus on when revising.  During the mock itself, students are provided with an introduction to the test; a walk through of the timings and regular prompts as to where they should be in the test; breathing exercises to calm those nerves; a drink; a snack; and all necessary resources including stationery.

Following the mock, I will email you detailed feedback, including a full answer scheme and a scanned copy of your child's multiple-choice paper. These, along with the hard copy of the test (taken home on the day) provide excellent revision opportunities.

If a specific weak area is identified, a 1-2-1 can be booked with a focus on 1/2 tricky areas.
